5th and 6th Six Weeks

MATH
Warm-ups: Various TAKS objectives.
Sharon Wells math program:
During the next few weeks, our class will be completing our unit on
transformations and possible outcomes. We will then start our lessons on
volume and then complete a math benchmark to test our skills. After, we
will spend what remaining time we have reviewing objectives already taught.

NOTE TO PARENTS: For math each day, students are allowed to take each math
assignment home for completion or review. All assignments are due the next
day. I am normally at work each morning around 6:30 to 7:00. I am free
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday to help your child before the bell rings on
any assignment/problem they may have. I am willing to help, please have
your child utilize this time.

SOCIAL STUDIES
For the past 2 weeks, our class has been studying early Texas colonist and
the important contribution people like Steven F. Austin did for Texas
independence. We will then continue with the Revolution of Texas, the
Battle of the Alamo, Victory at San Jacinto and the New Republic

SCIENCE
For science, we will complete our time exploring life cycles, unique niche,
food chains, and food webs. Finally, we will close our year learning about
weather and climate.
