Week of February 8th...

Weekly TAKS packets go home Thursdays and need to be returned completed by Tuesday.  Passages and practice problems will count for homework grades.  For both reading and math assignments, student must show their strategies.  Failure to complete assignments and/or show strategies will result in study hall and a blue sheet.

The counselor from Chisholm Trail came by today to talk with the students about their transitions into Middle School.  Coming home with your child was a sign-up sheet for fine arts electives.  These sheets are due back to me by February 17th.

Early release Wednesday.  School's out at 12:45.

The 5th grade Valentine party is next Friday, February 12th at 1:30.  Notes have gone home detailing instructions for individual students to bring various food items, games, materials, etc.  A permission slip for watching Shrek will come home on Tuesday.  Since this movie is PG, the fifth grade teachers need the o.k. from the home front.

Also, student will be able to bring valentines to pass out on Friday.  If your child brings valentines, he or she must bring one for every student in his or her homeroom.  Valentine's Day is for happiness, not hurt feelings.

Weekly letters due according to students' individual due dates.
