Week of Feb.. 8th...
Items to remember: 1) CTMS counselors will come to DW and talk to the kids and send home information packets. Please watch for them on Monday the 8th. 2) Early Release is this Wednesday at 12:45. 3) TAKS homework is due on Tuesdays. Please check over your child's work and remember to sign their folder! We are switching to math, make sure your child shows work on each problem!!! 4) Our class will begin ROBOLAB this Thursday! Ask your kids all about it!! 5) Our Valentines Party is on Friday starting at 1:30. Make sure your kids bring their decorated shoe boxes and valentines that day!! 6) Jump Rope for Life will be held in the Gym on Wednesday and Thursday. 7) Please send in your pennies for "Pennies for Peace" (ask your child about this). 8) DW is also collecting money for the children of Haiti - send in what you can! 9) Scholastic Book Orders are due by February 18th. You can do it on-line, too. Go to www.scholastic.com/bookclubs, click on parents and then the User name is jhathaway and the Password is orders. If you want to send in a check make it payable to Scholastic please. Also, in case you didn't know, if you order from more than one of those forms you can still add it all up and put it on ONE check!! Sweet!! :) Just be sure that you child makes sure to put their name on the order form. Math - We will continue our unit of study on geometry. We will be discussing quadrilaterals and solid shapes. We will also be working on a Geometry packet to help us understand the many concepts and vocabulary found in this unit. Continue to work on those multiplication facts!
Science - We will begin our unit on Energy. We will focus on circuits and electrical energy. Study guides will be handed out, but won't be due until we get closer to the assessment.
