Week of February 8th...
 
Items to remember: 

1)  TAKS homework is due on Tuesday.  Please check over your child's work and remember to sign their folder!  We are switching to math, make sure your child shows work on each problem!!!  
2)  Chisholm Trail elective sheets come home today.  Please fill out and send back to school by Wednesday, February 17th.  When your child returns their form, they will get a CTMS pencil.
3)  Early Release is Wednesday at 12:45.
4)  Valentine's Day party is Friday from 1:30-2:30.  A bright pink letter came home last week about what your child needs to bring for the party.  Please send items in by Friday morning.  Also, don't forget to have your child make and decorate a box for their Valentine cards - send to school on Friday!
5)  A permission slip for the movie (Shrek) will also come home. This is the movie that we will be watching during our Valentine's Day party.  Please sign and return to school by Friday.
6)  5th grade Garage Sale is Saturday, February 20th.  Please volunteer to help work a shift and/or clean out that garage/closets and donate unwanted "stuff" to help make money for our field trip to Sea World!
7)  Please send in your pennies for "Pennies for Peace" (ask you child about this).
8)  DW is also collecting money for the children of Haiti - send in what you can!


This week in...
Math - We will continue our unit of study on geometry.  We will be discussing quads and solids.  We will also be working on a Geometry packet to help us understand the many concepts and vocabulary found in this unit.
Science - We will begin our new unit of study on Forms of Energy.  We will learn about electrical energy this week.
