Welcome 8th Grade Parents and Students,
I have created this page to share information with you regarding high school!
Please check out the Counseling Calendar for important dates and events at Deerpark and McNeil.
We will be completing the four year plan during zone time over the course of the next month and a half. Your students will bring home a completed copy for your review and signature around the first of April. If you have any questions please let us know.
Four year plans will be done in pencil and are a working document so changes can be made at any time.
Your student will have one-on-one conferences during their high school years where you all can make revisions as needed.
Registration for McNeil will be held on February 27th and 28th through our ELA classes. On February 27th Teams 81 and 83 will register, and on February 28th Team 82 will register. If you are interested in attending, please check with your student to see what time they have Language Arts. I have asked that students return their choice sheets to the ELA teachers by February 21st so that there is time to review them before registration. However, if you would rather wait until after academy night at McNeil please have your student return their choice sheet to their ELA teacher no later than February 23, 2012.
If your student is not planning on attending McNeil they will still need to complete the choice sheet and four year plan. Also, students planning on transferring to another RRISD High School will need to submit an In-District transfer between February 1-28, 2012. These can be found online at the RRISD home page, or
here.

Also, starting February 24, 2012 I will be out on maternity leave, but Dolly Reisold will be taking over as my long-term substitute.
