Hello,
My name is Mrs.Cordova.I will be teaching Spanish IA and Teen Leadership
this year.I am very excited to be teaching at Deerpark Middle School and I am
looking forward to teaching and guiding my students through Spanish and Teen
Leadership.
The mission for Spanish IA will be for students to leave in May with
the abilty to understand, read, write and state simple phrases in Spanish.
To understand grammatically how the spanish language works and most
importantly to leave with a new cultural experience.
The mission for Teen Leadership students is to be able to leave Teen
Leadership with the development of leadership, personal, and business
skills. Students will learn to develop a healthy self-concept, healthy
relationships, and learn to understand the concept of personal
responsibility. Students will develop an understanding of emotional
intelligence and the skills it measures, which include self-awareness, self-
control, self-motivation, and social skills. Students will develop skills in
public speaking and communication and an understanding of personal image.
Students will develop an understanding of the concept of principal-based
decision-making and develop their own personal mission statement. They will
develop an understanding of the effects of peer pressure and will develop
skills to counter act those effects. Students will develop an understanding
of the principles of parenting, enabling them to become better family members
and citizens. They will also develop an understanding of the need for vision
in goal-setting, personally and professionally.
