About The Teacher
I graduated from the University of Texas in Austin and married an Aggie, Damon Holditch. We have three children and eight super grandchildren who give us hours of fun and adventures. I have a wonderful, sweet dog named Susie, a poodle. You will read about her as you read passages, and I write about her in my writer's notebook all the time. I started teaching 31 years ago. I began in first grade, moved to kindergarden, and for the past 29 years have taught sixth grade reading and language arts.. I work parttime for the Marquee Event Group, mostly the fun work like weddings and parties. I like to hike, sail, snow ski, oil paint, and read lots of books. But most of all, I love teaching school. My goals are for students to read a pletora of books in different genre, write about all the ideas they care about, learn as much as they can by focusing, by cooperating, and by respecting each other--all of this while having a good time. One habit I have that not many people know--I treat myself to a Starbucks Frappachino every Saturday...rain or shine, heat or cold, just because I like it!
