Science Agenda

Jami Kobren
Room 202
jami_kobren@roundrockisd.org

Tutoring Times Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 3:30 - 5:00 - let me know if
you will be staying

Students will need a new science notebook preferably by the first day back on
January 5th. I recommend a Five Star one subject polyvinyl cover spiral with
a pocket inside.

To prepare for high school, students will be having science homework every
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for the rest of the year unless
otherwise stated. These assignments will be due the day after they are
assigned unless otherwise stated. The assignments may review previous
concepts, practice our current lessons, practice science process skills, or
practice reading science passages and answering questions. On all homework
students will need to highlight all the directions, all question words (who,
what, where, when, why, how, etc), and any information which they feel is
important. Homework will be graded and returned the following week. Some
assignments may require the use of the 8th grade science book. If your child
does not have one at home, ask if it is in their locker. If they don't have
one in their locker, they may check one out from me.

On Friday, October 16 all Team 8-1 students are invited to watch Space Balls
in my room and have popcorn and soda. This is a chance for the kids to hang
out and have fun. They have been so wonderful this year so far, we thought
they deserved a treat. Space Balls is rated PG. Students will have to stay
in my room the entire time. They will need to either walk home or have a
ride by 5:30pm. Your kiddo was given a permission slip. If they lost it,
you may just write a note saying they have permission to stay and watch the
movie. If all goes well, we'll do this periodically.
