The mission of the Counseling and Guidance Program at Double File Trail
Elementary School is to be an integral part of the total educational
process. It is designed to prepare every student socially, academically,
and emotionally for present and future challenges. It supports the Texas
State Plan for the Comprehensive Counseling and Guidance Standards. These
standards are statements of what students should know and be able to do as
result of participating in a school counseling program. The purpose of the
program is to ensure that all students can achieve school success through
academic, career, and personal/social development experiences. In this
regard, the program involves a planned, purposeful, and sequential program
of activities that continue thoughout the child's elementary school career.
