The NJHS regular meeting minutes for 10/23/09 were 35 minutes.

At this meeting we were visited by Michelle Patterson, an educator for the
SPCA. She answered many of our important questions about volunteering and
what not. We found out some very interesting information for our service
project. For more information on the SPCA please visit www.spce.org
At this meeting we also decided to hand out flyers that tell people
we are going to be asking for donations on November 6th. We will be doing
this from 3 to around 5 or 6 on Saturday, 10/24/09. If you plan to come, meet
us at the entrance of Wellington Point. We will also be going to Wellington
Point again, to collect donations of money or items, on November 6th after
the regular meeting.
One last thing is that we will be having our new members’ induction
ceremony on November 12th from 6:30 to 7:00. Any parents who want to assist
in serving food are welcome, just contact Ms. Griffith.

The NJHS regular meeting minutes for 10/9/09 were 28 minutes.

At the regular NJHS meeting on 10/9/09 we made many decisions. After
being seated and saying our pledge we brainstormed questions to ask Michelle
Patterson from the SPCA. We decided to ask questions like what, will we be
doing if we volunteer at their SPCA location. Another question was what type
of dog foods will be allowed.
Another decision we made was that our NJHS induction ceremony will be
on November 12th, at 6:30 to 7:30. Our practice for the induction ceremony
will be from 3:05 to 3:35 on November 12th. Only 7th graders and officers are
required to attend, but all members are welcome.
And, our last decision was that we will be joining the Dinner Club of
the Samaritan Inn. To be in the Dinner Club we will first have to raise
$250.00 to pay for the preparation of a meal at the Samaritan Inn. Once we
have done this we can be official members of the Dinner Club, which means we
are then able to serve a meal at the Samaritan Inn. You are not required to
do this but, if you do you will get service hours. We will be offering a set
time to go door to door fundraising with some NJHS kids and our sponsors.
Read the back of your agenda for details.

The NJHS regular meeting minutes for 9/25/09 were 30 minutes.

Our next meeting will take place on October 2nd.

We decided that our first service project will be at the SPCA. A
representative will give us details on our October 23rd meeting. On that day
also, we will hold an induction ceremony for new members. Parents are welcome.

In the bake sale we sold 225 bags of cookies which gave us $113, $70 in
brownies and $67.50 in cupcakes. Adding the donations we got from our
generous customers, we had a total profit of $319!!!!!! We'd like to say
thank you to all the members who ran the stand and baked. Also, we'd like
to say thank you to all the parents who supervised and helped out.

Our last day for buying a tee shirt will be Monday 9/29. If you haven't
bought a t-shirt yet, please bring a check for $12 made out to DMS NJHS to
Ms. Griffith in room E208.

A practice will be held after the 9/11 meeting to perfect it. We will wear our
tee shirts and carry the banner.

During the 5 o'clock officer meeting at the Tutt's we came up with some ideas
for fundraisers. These ideas include a supply drive for the SPCA and selling
tickets to Macy's sales. (The Macy's tickets will provide straight profit. At
no cost to us we can sell these tickets that provide 25% off all Macy's
products on a said date. We gain five dollars per ticket we sell.) This will
be discussed more at the NJHS meeting on the 11th.

Ian will type a proposal for us to have a bake sale September 14-24th
excluding Fridays. We will set up out front, sell cookies, brownies, and
cupcakes for 50 cents each and proceeds will benefit NJHS. Ian will submit
the proposal to Jennifer over the weekend and Jennifer will submit the
proposal to Ms. Griffith by Tuesday, 9/8. Ms. Griffith will proofread and
submit to Dr. Faris for approval. Erin will be emailing the bake sale schedule
