At this meeting we were visited by Michelle Patterson, an educator for the SPCA. She answered many of our important questions about volunteering and what not. We found out some very interesting information for our service project. For more information on the SPCA please visit www.spce.org At this meeting we also decided to hand out flyers that tell people we are going to be asking for donations on November 6th. We will be doing this from 3 to around 5 or 6 on Saturday, 10/24/09. If you plan to come, meet us at the entrance of Wellington Point. We will also be going to Wellington Point again, to collect donations of money or items, on November 6th after the regular meeting. One last thing is that we will be having our new members’ induction ceremony on November 12th from 6:30 to 7:00. Any parents who want to assist in serving food are welcome, just contact Ms. Griffith. The NJHS regular meeting minutes for 10/9/09 were 28 minutes. At the regular NJHS meeting on 10/9/09 we made many decisions. After being seated and saying our pledge we brainstormed questions to ask Michelle Patterson from the SPCA. We decided to ask questions like what, will we be doing if we volunteer at their SPCA location. Another question was what type of dog foods will be allowed. Another decision we made was that our NJHS induction ceremony will be on November 12th, at 6:30 to 7:30. Our practice for the induction ceremony will be from 3:05 to 3:35 on November 12th. Only 7th graders and officers are required to attend, but all members are welcome. And, our last decision was that we will be joining the Dinner Club of the Samaritan Inn. To be in the Dinner Club we will first have to raise $250.00 to pay for the preparation of a meal at the Samaritan Inn. Once we have done this we can be official members of the Dinner Club, which means we are then able to serve a meal at the Samaritan Inn. You are not required to do this but, if you do you will get service hours. We will be offering a set time to go door to door fundraising with some NJHS kids and our sponsors. Read the back of your agenda for details. The NJHS regular meeting minutes for 9/25/09 were 30 minutes. Our next meeting will take place on October 2nd. Adding the donations we got from our generous customers, we had a total profit of $319!!!!!! We'd like to say thank you to all the members who ran the stand and baked.
