What are the rules and consequences in 4th grade?
1. We will be polite at all times. 2. We will work quietly and not disturb others. 3. We will listen courteously when others are talking. 4. We will be friendly to fellow classmates. 5. We will be truthful and honest. 6. We will respect our teacher and other adults. 7. We will be prepared for class every day. (supplies, planner signed, HW) 8. We will arrive at class on time. 9. We will cooperate with others. 10. We will always do our best! 11. We will use our time WISELY! 12. We will follow directions. Consequences: If a student chooses to not follow the rules, this results in signing the behavior book. 1). 1 signature a day = 10 minutes off recess. 2). 2 signatures a day = 15 minutes off recess and phone call home. 3). 3 signatures a day = office visit. * All student signatures are noted on the weekly conduct chart.Back to Top
Students will bring home a folder each Wednesday. The folder should contain graded work from the teacher that has been corrected by the student in a different color of pen. The folder will also contain office and classroom notes. *Please make sure that Wednesday folders are returned the following day.Back to Top
Is there anything I should know about grading in 4th grade?
District grading policy: 90%-100%= A 80%-89% = B 70%-79% = C 60%-69% = D Below 60% = F Although students are expected to correct graded work, the grade remains the same for homework and daily grades. Only a corrected test with parents signature may be brought up to a 70%. Late work: 1 day late = -10pts. 2 days late = -20pts. 3 days late = -30pts. 4 or more days = score of 0Back to Top
How is my 4th grader rewarded for good behavior and work ethic?
Students receive reward tickets for exceptional behavior. These tickets can be turned in for an end of each six weeks celebration. Guidelines for celebration attendance each six weeks: 1.) 3 or fewer signatures for late homework. 2.) 2 or fewer signatures for behavior. 3.) 10 reward tickets to be turned in the day of the celebration. *Students not attending will be with a teacher completing a reflection writing piece on how to improve for the next six weeks.Back to Top
What should I expect for homework in 4th grade?
Homework is assigned each night, with the exception of Friday. Typically, Monday and Wednesday nights are Language Arts homework. Tuesday and Thursday are reserved for Math homework. Of course there are some exceptions, such as test nights or special projects. Homework is due the day after it is assigned. It is the students responsibility to pick up his/her own homework.Back to Top

Field Trips: the district allows 2 per year. Dates and places will be announced after the year begins. Special projects: Boat Regatta, ONE WHOPPING BOOK REPORT (in the spring) The state Social Studies curriculum is Texas History.Back to Top
