Four FISH! Principles

  1. Be There-When we interact with others, we need to really focus on that moment, with that person. We take responsibility for “being who we are while we’re doing what we’re doing.”
  2. Choose Your Attitude- We can’t control what happens to us, but
  3. we do have a choice as to how we respond. By accepting responsibility for the attitude we choose, we also empower ourselves to change it.
  4. Make Their Day-Do things big and small to make others feel good and have a powerful, positive impact on the people in our lives.
  5. Play-This does not mean goof off, but it does mean bring a lighthearted spirit to life.  It is not a specific game or activity but a state of mind that brings new energy to the tasks at hand and sparks creative solutions.

Discuss these four principles with your children as they apply at home. Please send in any stories or articles you may have that exemplify a principle. Thanks!
