Welcome to Study Skills/Technology for the fifth grade . The curriculum includes Thinking Maps, SOAR study skills and All the Right Type.
Thinking Maps is a language of eight visual patterns each based on a fundamental thinking process. These patterns are used individually and in combination across every grade level and curriculum area as an integrated set of tools for life-long learning. Students use Thinking Maps software to learn the eight patterns and then know how to apply them in all subject areas.
The SOAR program consists of specific core strategies that cover most fundamental skills for school success and interrelate with each other, making it easy for students to learn and use them immediately. It is a simple and efficient system for earning better grades in less time.
All the Right Type software is used to teach keyboarding to students. This program gives substantial practice, includes testing at specific intervals and tracks a student's accuracy and speed.
