Welcome to EIS

Dear Parents,

My name is Lindsey Browning and I am thrilled to begin my third year as Counselor at Eubanks Intermediate School .  It is my pleasure to be a part of a remarkable school, respected district and wonderful community.  For the 2007-2008 School Year, I look forward to continuing a monthly in-class guidance schedule, expanding our Red Ribbon and Diversity Week activities, working with our PTO to bring in outstanding assemblies and speakers, and providing sponsorship for our EIS Ambassadors, Yearbook and small group book clubs.

As a school counselor, I am responsible for providing awareness, skill development, and application of the skills needed in everyday life.   Additionally, I will be focusing on prevention and intervention in regards to academic and relationship concerns, grief/loss, family dynamics and helping students cope with stress.  Throughout the year, I will be focusing on the Chick-fil-A Core Essentials , FISH! for Kids, and will be addressing the following:

Self-Confidence    
Motivation
Decision Mak ing, Goal-Setting and Planning
Interpersonal Effectiveness and Social Skills
Communication Skills
Cross-Cultural Effectiveness
Responsible Behavior

I will see students during in-class lessons, through small lunch groups or on an individual basis as needs arise.  Students are encouraged to see me and can do so by their own request or by referral from a teacher or parent.  I maintain an open door policy for all students, staff, and parents.
