Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week is October 22-26

Red Ribbon Week is a nationally recognized week in October honoring Kiki Camarena, a Drug Enforcement Agent who lost his life at the hands of drug dealers in 1985. Please click the below link to read more about Red Ribbon Week and it's history. http://www.tcada.state.tx.us/redribbon/history.html

EIS is offering the following activities during the week that are designed to promote the advantages of a drug and alochol-free lifestyle.

To promote Red Ribbon Week EIS will be:

  • Providing each student and staff member with an awesome drug awareness dog tag necklace.
  • Hosting the One Man Anti-Drug Campaign Assembly presented by Jerry Berkowitz, a Throat Cancer survivor.
  • Sponsoring a Red Ribbon Poetry Contest to highlight the negative effects of drugs in a person’s life.  Winning entries will be submitted to local publications for publishing and framed in the front hallway of EIS.
  • Sponsoring a banner contest dedicated to anti-drug slogans and prevention.   Winning homerooms will participate in a friendly game of kickball.
  • Providing daily announcements that highlight activities for the day and messages that include startling drug fact and statistics.

 

 

EubanksIntermediate School students are encouraged to participate by wearing different items throughout the week.

 

Monday:           Team Up Against Drugs

                        Wear your favorite team shirt or jersey.

 

Tuesday:           Fighting the War Against Drugs

                        Wear Camo!

 

Wednesday:     Red Out!!

                        Wear as much red as you can!

 

Thursday:         Living Drug Free is No Sweat

                        Wear your favorite sweats to school.

 

Friday:               Stay Clean…Wear GREEN
