Leo was our FROGerrific Student of the Week last week!
Bella is our FROGerrific Student of the Week this week!

Please be sure to check your child's backpack this evening for an important note from the school nurse.

Wednesday is 100's Day!  We have planned several funfilled activities to help celebrate the number 100!!  Several wonderfuls have brought in their designated items to school today.  If you have not, please bring them by tomorrow so I can start getting everything organized!

Just a heads up that February 12th is the Valentine's Day Party.  It will be right after lunch.  Parents are welcome to come, but no siblings please.

The forecast for this week is a bit on the chilly side.  Please make sure your wonderful comes in layers so they can put on and take off what they need!

Thank you for remembering to send your wonderful back with their Reading Group Folders the next day!  That really helps me out to get the folders ready with new books!!!

January 15, 2010 (Sorry, for belated updates)
Preston is our FROGerrific Student of the Week!

Thank you for the Wacht Family (Preston) and the Waiwaiole Family (Caroline, Edie, and Mary Elizabeth) for donating supplies to the class!

I usually try to pull your wonderful for reading groups 2-3 times a week.  I had a very difficult time pulling groups this week because the Reading Group Folders (manilla colored laminated folder with three puppies on the front) have not been coming back to school.  If your wonderful comes home with a reading group folder, please try to make sure it is back at school the next day.  That will give me enough time to "restuff" it for the next time they have Reading Groups again.

A reminder that January 18th (Monday) is Martin Luther King Jr. Day.  We will not have school!

This week, we have been busy studying and learning how to do research on PENGUINS!  Ask your wonderful what the know about penguins!  Hopefully they are now penguin experts!

Weekly Leaps and Lilypad have been updated!

January 6, 2010

HAPPY NEW YEAR!  It's good to be back at school once again!  We've been busy working on our New Year's Resolutions this week.  We talked about how a resolution is like  PROMISE to ourselves on something we can do to help make us a better person.  I shared with the wonderfuls that my New Year's Resolution is to run 3 miles every day.  So far, I've been pretty good on keeping that PROMISE...ask your wonderful what his/her resolution is....

The district assessment window opens this week so we will be busy with our mid-year reading and phonemic awareness testing.  Report cards will be coming home soon!  Also due to district assessments, wonderfuls will not be going home with Reading Group folders until next week.

I have updated the calendar for the Spring Semester Computer Lab days.  If you are interested in volunteering, please let me know and I will schedule you in.

Please take the time to switch out your child's OOPS bag of clothes in their backpack to more cold weather appropriate.  Also, since we are in the season of winter now, please remember to send your child with a coat/jacket everyday.  If the windchill is above 40 degrees, we will be going outside for recess and PE.

The Lilypad has been updated.  Please encourage your wonderful to post.  We have been practicing our typing skills in the computer lab!!

I have added a few things to our Wish List.  We are starting to get a bit low on glue sticks, erasers, vis-a-vis, and colored pencils.

Tomorrow (Thursday) is supposed to be very cold.  Please make sure your wonderful is dressed accordingly (or atleast in layers).
