Working on comparing fractions and reminding ourselves of all that fun vocabulary. Learned a new (name for a) strategy - the Butterfly!
Will hit switching from decimals to fractions and fractions to decimals throughout the week.
Goal setting for Social and Emotional lesson on Friday!
Number Sense Unit - 5th grade TAG students can compare and order non-negative rational numbers. We're working on wrapping our brains around what exactly rational numbers are. We know a lot already. 5th graders must also generate equivalent forms of rational numbers including whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
New Problem Solving - Due Tues 9/15
If it is now 4 pm Saturday, in 253 hours from now, what time and day will it be? (Assume no daylight savings time changes in the period.)
It's going to be a great year in math!

Today they took a test on Code Talkers and are continuing to work on their projects. Itold the kids....WOW ME!!!! I've seen way too many boring projects in my 16 years and want to be "blown away". :) I have a feeling, I will be. :) New spelling words on Tue and I'm thinking that by Friday they will have earned a REWARD DAY!!! Feel free to bring extra snacks for the reward activities. :)
