Second Nine Weeks Reading Assignment:

You will need to read at least three (3) "just right" books this nine weeks. After completing each book, you will need to complete a book project for a test grade.

Remember, not all books have to be a huge, thick novel. In addition they should not be "easy books"! Remember what we learned in class about choosing "just right" books and reading a variety of genres!

Book #1 Due: Nov.11th

Book #2 Due: dec. 4th

Book #3 Due: Dec. 18th

This should be a more than adequate schedule if your child is reading a "just right" book for thirty minutes each night.

Late work will not be accepted.

WEEKLY:
*Reading: Read 120 minutes each week

I recommend reading the same book at school and at home. Students can remember what they are reading, and finish each book sooner. My goal is for your child to build endurance and be able to sustain reading for longer periods of time. To help your child at home you can alternate reading pages or chapter with your child. Please discuss the book as you go, asking questions. Please see the reading page for book discussion ideas.

*Math: 4 Square/Lonestar (distributative math practice over time...so your child won't forget what s/he has already learned) STUDY MULTIPLICATION FACTS!!!
*Spelling: homework assigned on Monday and due Friday. Study word list for test on Friday.
*Social Studies:
* Handwriting: see first page in Handwriting Book for due dates
