About The Teacher
Welcome to first grade! I am really excited to be teaching first grade for the third year at Fern Bluff Elementary. I am beginning my tenth year of teaching. I have taught Kindergarten, First Grade, Third Grade, and Fifth Grade. I was raised in Lockport, Illinois where I spent the first 23 years of my life. I grew up playing volleyball, basketball, and softball. I actually attended the University of Illinois at Chicago on a softball scholarship. In September 1992 I married my husband, Brett. We lived in Stevens Point, Wisconsin for 2 1/2 years before moving to San Antonio, Texas. We spent nine wonderful years in San Antonio, and were blessed with three boys - Keegan(13), Ryder (10), and Jaiden (5 1/2). In May 2004 my husband took a new job in the Austin area, so we moved to Leander. I volunteered in my boys' classrooms, helped with homework, and spent lots of quality time with Jaiden. Although I loved being home, I was very anxious to get back into the classroom. In August 2007 I joined the First Grade Team at Fern Bluff Elementary. I feel very fortunate to be working with such a wonderful group of women. I am really looking forward to a wonderful 2009-2010 school year with this group of first graders.
