Spelling Activities Spelling words and tests will now be given on Friday. Each student must complete Act. #1 Act. #1 Cut out your words. Sort your words in the pattern that is listed on your paper. Write the sort in your journal. Store your words in the ziplock bag in the front of your journal. You may choose any TWO of the following activities. Each student must turn In three activities weekly. Act. #2 Sort your words a different way than you did on Monday. Write your new sort in your journal. Write a sentence or two explaining your new sort. Store your words in the zip lock baggie in the front of your journal. Act. #3 Word Operation - Choose 10 words to "operate" on, record them in your journal, and write the new word after each. You need to underline the alteration. Example: sport - short (underline the sp and the sh) (This program will not let me underline) Act. #4 This activity has two parts. Words for the second part must follow this week’s sort. Part 1: Glue your words in alphabetical order. Part 2: Word Hunt - You are to look through your book and find 10 words that have the same pattern as your words. (eg. words with vccv patterns - look for other words that are not on your list that fit that pattern. spelling word is FUNNY - little)
