The Read Aloud/Read Along program is designed to promote reading in Kingergarten and First grade. Students are encourged to read to their parents and parents to their children.
Each student takes home a reading log that is initialed by parents as the designated amount of reading time occurs. When the log is completed, a parent signs the log and the student returns it to the teacher. Each time a completed log is processed, the student receives an incentive (such as a sticker, book mark, pencil, eraser, notepad) and moves a game piece across the game board. The game board is located in the main hallway across from the library. When the student reaches Goal 11 the student visits the Treasure Book in the library to choose a prize!
NEW!!! Reading minute logs are now available online, so you'll never be out of them again. Access the Read Aloud/Along Minutes link on the menu. Print them out as you need them!
