This is my fourth year teaching first grade at Fern
Bluff. First grade is a dream to teach because of the tremendous growth
that I get to be a part of in your child's life. I hope to impact the lives
of my students this year so that they love learning, work together, and show
empathy to others not only this year but for a lifetime.
I graduated from Texas State University in 2005 with a degree in
Interdisciplinary Studies (Elementary Education). Later I added my ESOL (English as a Second or
Other Language) certification. Soon after graduation, I married my
high school sweetheart, Michael. Together we enjoy camping, baseball
games, and playing fetch with our border collie Darla. On any given
day, you may also find me at a local coffee shop with a Cafe Mocha and my
favorite book (or papers to grade)!
We will be extremely blessed this fall to have a student teacher from my alma mater, Texas State,
with us. Her name is Kim Weaver and she officially begins September 14. I will let her tell you more
about herself soon.
