-Morning Message (Concepts of Print, Letter/Sound Knowledge, Beginning Editing, Word Solving)
-Poetry (Concepts of Print, Letter/Sound Knowledge, Rhyming, Content Reinforcement)

-Word Study (How Words Look, Word Chunks, Word Families, Sight Words, Building Words)

8:30-9:30  Reading Workshop
            Activities Working With Letters and Words:
            -Phonological Awareness (Rhyming, Syllables, Phoneme Isolation, Sound Blending & Segmentation)
            -Alphabetic Knowledge (Letter Recognition, Alphabetical Order, Letter/Sound Correspondence)
            -Word Study (How Words Look, Word Chunks, Word Families, Sight Words, Building Words)
            -Shared and Guided Reading/Literature Groups
            -Independent Reading (Students read from book boxes and class library)

            -Read To (Mini-lessons in Reading Process and Strategies, Writing Craft, & Book Knowledge)

-Teacher finishes reading groups, assesses, and works with individual students
