Noticing: We noticed that Patricia Polacco puts pictures of real people in picture frames in her illustrations. We have noticed this in many of her books.

Book: Rechenka's Eggs by Patricia Polacco
Summary:
Babushka saved a hurt goose and named him Rechenka. Then Rechenka knocked over her precious, painted eggs. So, Rechenka laid a colored egg each day so that Babushka could win at the festival. On the last day, Rechenka laid an egg with a baby goose for Babushka to keep in her place.
Noticing: We noticed that her illustrations of her characters were drawn as real people from her life.
