I am so excited to be teaching your child this school year. Your child is
going to have a great first grade year. I look forward in getting to know
you and your child. This year is going to be full of learning! Now I bet
you are curious about me!!!!
Throughout my childhood I witnessed first hand the impact teachers can make
on the children they teach. My father was a teacher, coach, and athletic
director for 36 years, while my mother taught elementary for 32 years. As
you can see, teaching runs deep in my veins. I have always enjoyed
observing all the past students both my parents taught finding them years
later and expressing their appreciation for making an impact in their life.
I hope to provide that kind of impact to the lives of the students I teach.
This is my seventh year of teaching. I have been very lucky to have taught
all six years at Fern Bluff. I began teaching third grade, then after two
years I decided my heart was leaning towards first graders. This was one of
the best decisions that I have ever made. Not only do I enjoy working and
teaching first grade, my collegues add pure joy to each day.
After graduating from high school in Gatesville, Texas (a small town outside
of Waco), I made a move to the great town of College Station to attend
college. In December of 2002 I graduated from Texas A&M University with a
Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. Once graduation was
over, I made my home down here in Round Rock. After 5 years of dating, my
husband and I married in June of 2003. We began our parenthood with a
wonderful black and white Shih Zhu. Our dog, Kenzie, is a fury family
member full of energy and spunk. She was our only child until we were
blessed with a baby boy in November 2005. Logan is the best gift we could
have ever been given. Parenthood is one of life’s most rewarding jobs.
Everyday brings new joys with a child.
During the free time that I do have, shopping for clothes and shoes remain
on the top as a favorite. Recently I have been learning how to scrapbook
so that Logan can know all about the important parts of his life. During
the summers we like to go to the lake to ski, tube, and cruise around in the
boat. Our have now been in our custom home for a year! Yeah, no more
building process!
Now you know about me, let’s put our focus toward your child and together we
can provide them with a successful school year!!
To be added by the class once school starts!
