Attn: PTA 2008-09 General Membership



There will be a Special Regular PTA Meeting held on Tuesday, June 30th from 10am until 10:15am in the Forest Creek Elementary Cafeteria.  Notice of  meetings regarding bylaw changes for general membership requires a 30 day notice so that then requires us to hold this summertime meeting.  The purpose of the meeting is to vote on PTA Membership dues.  The dues were increased by the Texas PTA and the voting will be to vote on a bylaw amendment to submit to Texas PTA regarding the amount of dues that Forest Creek PTA requires for membership.  Please take a few minutes this summer to support the PTA and vote regarding this important topic.  If you have any questions regarding this, please do not hesitate to contact either myself (fcepta.president@gmail.com) or the Parliamentarian, Ashley Hallum (fcepta.parliamentarian@gmail.com).  




Also, be sure to join us for Regular PTA Meeting this Monday, June 1st at 11am in the PTA Portable to celebrate the successes from this year and to show appreciation for the amazing volunteers who give so much to our community and campus!

Dr. Daniel Presley selected to lead district’s newest high school 



April 23, 2009 – Dr. Daniel Presley has been selected as the new principal for Cedar Ridge High School scheduled to open for the 2010-2011 school year. The appointment was announced by RRISD Superintendent Dr. Jesús Chávez Thursday night at the RRISD School Board of Trustees meeting. Dr. Presley will officially join the Round Rock ISD team on July 1, 2009. 



Dr. Presley has been in the education profession for 23 years and has experience as a principal, adjunct professor, biology teacher and athletic coach at the high school level in Louisiana and Texas. He is currently serving as the principal of Carroll Senior High School in Southlake, TX. The school has earned numerous Exemplary ratings from the Texas Education Agency and has several state and nationally ranked extra-curriculum programs for the 2008-2009 school year. He played an important role in establishing the Medical Academy and initiating a Chinese language course in Carroll ISD. Dr. Presley has also served as an adjunct professor at the University of North Texas and Texas Christian University where he has taught classes in instructional leadership, curriculum design, community relations, communication, and administrative leadership. 



“He is a collaborative leader who has implemented innovative, creative and relevant practices to ensure students are college and career ready,” said RRISD Superintendent Dr. Jesús Chávez. “Daniel has experience working in urban, suburban, rural and inner-city schools in addition to successfully implementing programs in low socioeconomic areas as well as wealthy suburban districts.” 



Dr. Presley has a Doctorate in Education from Texas A&M University, a Master of Education from Centenary College and a Bachelor of Science from Centenary College in Louisiana.
