About The Teacher
Thank you for letting me be a part of your lives this year. Teaching is such a rewarding career and I truly enjoy making a difference. Here is little bit of information about me. I was born in Georgia, but I got here as fast as a could. I grew up in Arlington, but I've lived in the Austin Area now for almost 20 years. I still keep in contact with my childhood friends. I value friends and family. I'm an only child. My folks are very special to me, and I do many things with them. I have a very smart and adorable miniature dachshund named "Jack." He is turning five this year, and he's brought lots of excitement to my life. I love to travel. My folks and I have been to 42 states. I love experiencing new areas, and meeting new people. My goal is to travel to all 50 states, and to start my travels overseas. Other interests I have are: shopping, boating, antiquing, going to the movies, playing tennis, golfing, riding my bike, spending time with family and friends, playing the piano and the guitar. I've been at Forest Creek from the very beginning. I've been here for 15 years! I felt very honored to be chosen to help open the school. This will be my 18th year of teaching. I've taught 2nd grade for 16 years.I love it! I am certified to teach TAG, ESL and ART. I graduated from UCF - University Of Central Florida with honors. I designed a resource book about Manatees that was donated to their library. Some awards that I'm proud of is being Nominated for "Teacher of the Year" from our campus, honored as "Who's Who Of American Teachers," and nominated as "Teacher of the Month" through Applebees through the years. I've been trained in many areas and very proud of all of my accomplishments as a teacher. I'm looking forward to a "Splashing New Year!" Miss Dempsey's Favorites Restaurants - Chili's, Spaghetti Warehouse, Red Lobster, and Shady Groves. Candy - Hershey Kisses, and Milky Ways. Stores - Kohls, Hobby Lobby, Brighton, Half Price Books, Hallmark, Walmart, Bath and Body Works, and Target. Drinks - Starbucks Coffee, and Dr. Pepper House Colors - Red, Green, and Yellow. Collectibles - Willow Angles, Christmas Ornaments, quilted items, antiques, and old song sheets. Hobbies - Golf, boating, traveling,playing the guitar and piano, antiquing, going to movies and trying new restaurants.
