Dear Friends, I hope that the summer has been fun and you have all had time to relax and enjoy
some well earned time with your families. As you know I went to Scotland for the month of June
to look after my mom who had a hip replacement. She got through everything well but I just
don't know how long the two of them can make it on their own, they are both 84. I guess they
will know when they need more help.
At the end of the school year Michael put his name in the hat with his company, GE, for an expat
position in Singapore. As you can imagine there were a few other people interested in the job
so the whole process took forrr evvverrrr. We found out, only after I got back from Scotland,
that he had infact got the position. Of all the moves we have made, this is a hard one. I hate
to jump ship on ya'll...despite my moanings and groanings last year, I truly enjoyed teaching
your children. I don't want any of you to worry about next year. Mrs. Smith, the Principal,
is planning to keep the group together and move them as a class to 1st grade with an experienced
teacher who has completed 30+ hours of Gifted and Talented training. If you have any specific

I want to thank you all for giving me such great kids to teach..you really have done a superb
job ....continue to work with them at home because YOU truly make the difference. I hope to be
at the Open House to say Hi one last time.
Alex and her Dad are leaving Aug. 5th and I will be going end of August. My email out there
will be cmahein@gmail.com Stay in touch and if you fancy a holiday or house sitting out there
just let me know. I have one Beta fish and three outside cats I need to find homes for. If
you're up for any or all let me know. We are taking the two dogs!!
