Dear Parents,
I just love the week before Thanksgiving!  We have a lot of fun activities going on.  One of my favorite books is called Molly's Pilgrim.  We will be reading this story this week and doing lots of writing in our Reading Response Journals.  :)  We will get to watch the movie on Friday!  Our spelling list and vocabulary for the week are from the story.   I am also sending home a fun heritage project for the children to complete at home.    I am going to give your child a clothespin and he or she is going to make a heritage doll which will be due on Thursday.  I am also going to give the spelling and vocabulary test this week on Thursday so that it is all done before Friday!  This is a fun project that goes along with our Molly's Pilgrim story and something the children have always loved sharing with the rest of the class. Please help your child decorate the clothespin and make a quality product.  It's time to bust out the glue, string, and felt.  :)
Doll ex.) I have Cherokee Indian, English, and German ancestors.  I might decide to do a Cherokee Indian doll and dress the doll in traditional ceremony attire.
