Homework should be written in the planner every day not classwork.
Remember that classwork is finished during
the school day and is not sent home to finish. The planner needs to be signed
every night only if the homework is written in it. The planners are checked
daily and the kids are rewarded, however if it is not signed they go on a
class restriction plan we have put into place to promote responsibility with
homework procedures. Please help your child by checking the planner. Thanks.
Monday :
New leveled readers are put in BEE
Binders every Monday. Read orally for 20 min. every night this
week and record the time read on the reading record sheet. We write a summary
over the reader on Mondays and some of the students do not know what the book
is about. Please discuss the reader with your child after they read
to you.
Spelling words should be written on
notebook paper for the second 9 weeks.
Write the list in alphabetical order.
Read for 20 min.
Tuesday
Create 4 sentences using your spelling
list.
Read the leveled reader and be prepared to
write a summary about the book on Monday of the following week!
Wednesday- Read for 20 min. and study spelling words
Thursday - Library Day!
Read - story of the week, from the reading
textbook and be prepared for a comprehension test.
