Each Monday students will be given a practice facts test. If they miss 2 or
less they will move on to the next test. All students will receive a practice
test that they must do for homework. This will help them prepare for the
graded test that they will take on Friday.
Students will work at their own pace. Some students may go quickly
through the addition and subtraction facts and move on to multiplication.
While others will need a little more time with addition and subtraction.
Please work with your child at home if you see that they are having
difficulties.
We are currently counting money in math. Please practice with your child at
home. Most of them are doing very well, but a few need extra practice. Grab
and handful of change and give them a little quiz. We will also be working on
counting back change. This is a hard concept for many third graders. Next week
we will be telling time. Please practice this at home as well.
We are wrapping up our science unit this week. We will begin social studies
next week. We will be working on time lines. Your child will need to bring in
5 pictures to create their own time line. They will need a baby picture, most
recent photo and 3 in between. They will need to be able to write a sentence
or two that describes something special about that time in their life. These
turn out really cute and we will display in the hallway when they are
complete. Come by and take a look!!!!
