Is there homework for inclusion students?

At this point, I will take the cue from the other regular education teachers
that I teach with.  If homework needs to be modified, I will do this.

How do I communicate with parents?

I communicate through this website, the student's planner, and through phone
calls.  If you contact me, I'll get back to you as soon as possible.  Also, I
will be happy to e-mail you if you provide me with your address.

How do parents communicate with me?

You may set up a conference through the office at (281)482-1201, e-mail me, 
or leave me a note in your child's planner.

What goals will my child be working on?

Inclusion students will be working on the goals determined by the ARD
committee at their annual ARD meeting.

What types of changes have been made in special education this year?

Our district is embracing full inclusion.  Special educators are going into 
regular education classes most of the day and meeting the needs of all
students who need help, not just those identified with a disability.  We
consider all students regular education students.

There are no pull-out resource classes.  There is one pull-out decoding class
that will be meet daily for 45 minutes.

Is there any content mastery?

No, there isn't.  Every student's needs will be met in regular education.  If
a student has a content mastery IEP, we will reARD that student.  Inclusion 
students will have an inclusion IEP.

What is inclusion?

Inclusion involves having a certified special educator or para-educator go
into the regular education class to modify the regular education curriculum
and provide special modification or assistance as needed.  Our goal is to 
help every child meet his/her full potential.
