We will practice daily to build on sight words, phonemic awareness, decoding skills,
verbal skills, comprehension skills, flow charts, and lessons focused on the TEKS to build your
child's confidence in reading.

BETWEEN AND ACROSS SUBJECT AREAS. I
AM COMMITTED TO OFFERING MY STUDENTS THE BEST
READING SELECTIONS NECESSARY TO TIE IN WITH ALL SUBJECT
AREAS. READING AND LANGUAGE SKILLS ARE APPLIED TO A
VARIETY OF GENRES, BALANCING FICTION AND NONFICTION.

Language: WE WILL BE WORKING ON BASIC GRAMMAR SKILLS WHICH WILL
HELP YOUR STUDENT WITH CREATIVE WRITING.
Spelling : OUR SPELLING DICTATION TESTS WILL BE ON FRIDAYS.
Please have your child practice their spelling words daily. Their
list will be sent home each Monday unless there is a holiday.
