Dr Crotteau is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy. He served in
nuclear submarines for 24 years before retiring from the navy and
beginning a teaching career. This is Dr. Crotteau's fourteenth year of
teaching at FHS. His degrees include Master of Science in Electrical
Engineering, MBA, and Doctor of Education.
BC Calculus: This course will focus on Single Variable Calculus with Vector Functions. Course
content will include Limits, Differentiation, Integration, Differential Equations, Curves in Parametric,
Vector, and Polar Form, and Infinite Sequences and Series. Students will use their knowledge of
course content to solve real world problems and communicate mathematical ideas effectively.
Students will use technology as a tool to facilitate learning and doing mathematics. Extensions of all
course content are provided to provide the challenge appropriate for an Advanced Placement course.
Pre-AP Precalculus: This course will provide students with a strong
foundation of precalculus concepts, techniques, and applications in
preparation for AP Calculus courses. In this course students will
develop quantitative reasoning and problem-solving skills, develop their
abilities to understand and communicate mathematical ideas
effectively, and increase their appreciation of mathematics through
seeing a wide range of mathematical applications. Students will learn to
use technology as a tool to facilitate learning and doing mathematics.
