GENERAL INFORMATION
Student Evaluation will be by post-chapter questions, quizzes, and exams, as
well as occasional group projects. Where this class does have a more relaxed
and fun atmosphere, it is NOT a study hall for other classes or a social
hour.
Movies/Current Event Videos
Throughout this semester you will watch several mental health-related movies
and current event videos pertaining to mental health issues and/or new
medical procedures. You are not allowed to visit, sleep, or read during these
videos. It is advisable to take notes, as all movies and videos have
objectives over which you will be tested. In the event you are ill or absent
from class for any reason, it is your responsibility to obtain a copy of the
movie/video notes from a classmate since this material has been know to show
up on an exam.
Absences:
If you miss a class, please visit my Friendswood High School teacher web site
@ http://TeacherWeb.com/TX/FriendswoodHighSchool/Genzer,Karmen This will take
you to the assignments for that week. Remember, you are responsible for
copying any notes that were taken in class during your absence. In the
event you are absent for an exam, you are responsible for rescheduling a
makeup exam the day you return to school. You cannot wait a week to
reschedule! Do not rely on the teacher to remind you of makeup work. If you
exceed the allotted time according to school policy, you will be given a
zero on the missed assignment. Responsibility and accountability are both
important attributes for health professionals.
