I have taught at FHS for the past eighteen years and I am the Team Leader for
the Social Studies
Department. I hold teaching certifications in English and History, and I am
certified to teach gifted
and talented students as well as Advanced Placement courses in both English
Language and United
States History.
I am married to Robert Hanegan and we have three great kids. Wade (class of
1999) is a graduate of
Sam Houston State University with a B.S. in Criminal Justice. Wade married
Lauren Ashley Bates in
January of 2008 and he is a Project Manager for Jamail-Smith Construction;
Katie (class of 2002) is a
graduate of UHCL with a B.S. in Mathematics and a fourth year teacher at
Friendswood High School
as well as the Jr. Varsity Volleyball coach; and Valorie (class of 2003) is a
Special Education Teacher's
Aide at Weber Elementary in CCISD while attending education classes. Valorie
married Jordan Smith
(FHS class of 2001) on October 11, 2008 and they live in Alvin.
For the past six summers I have graded APUSH essays for the College Board in
Louisville, KY.
During the summer, I have enjoyed attending workshops sponsored by the
National Endowment for
the Humanities in locations such as Salem, Mass; Mt. Vernon, and Ellis
Island.
To prepare students for all state and / or college board exams; to prepare
students to be concerned and knowledgable citizens.
