What is your grading policy?
Homework is 20%
Tests and Quizzes are 80%
(Tests count twice and quizzes count once)
How do you grade the homework?
Several different ways. Completion, accuracy, or "pop
questions" from
the
assignment
Do you accept late homework?
No. This may seem harsh, but I am trying to create a sense of
responsibility in my students. Because I know that accidents
will
happen, I do drop the lowest homework grade at the end of the 9
week
grading period.
Will there be projects?
Yes. There will be a few. No more than one per nine week period
and I
always give the students plenty of time to work on their projects.
My child is not doing well...what should I do?
Have your child come to tutorials with me. If I can work one on
one with
your child, I can diagnose what concept is not understood and fix
the
problem. If I cannot fix the problem, I will contact you and we
will
discuss our options.
When are your tutorials?
My tutorials: 8-8:20 Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
3:45-4:10 Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
He/She is studying and still failing! Now what?
Tutorials with me or they can also
attend the Math Department's tutorial times.
Tuesday 3:45-4:45 rm 131 (with Ms. Morris)
Friday 7:25-8:25 rm 2002 (with Dr. Crotteau)
We can help. These are services provided to
those students who want it. If continued tutorial attendance is
not helping, please contact me so we can look into other options.
My child cannot attend tutorials at the given time. What are our options?
I will do my best to accommodate students needs. If we can not
get our
schedules aligned then you may want to get a tutor for your
child. Names of
tutors can be provided by the counseling center.
