First nine weeks
Espanol I we will be learning the alphabet, how to meet and greet, order food, days and dates,
numbers, school items, how to describe people and places, and how the singular and plural of verbs
and subjects interact in the language
Espanol II we will review our work from Level I for the first two weeks and then start right into our
new textbook. Chapter one is all about travel on the train and how to talk about what happened on
the trip -- using the past tense (the preterite) to say what happened, then we move on to the
restaurant where we again describe what took place with vocabulary revolving around food and
cooking.
Espanol III we find that our set up is different in Spanish III and that we are responsible for reading
and understanding and then Oh my goodness, actually TALKING about what we read and understood.
A step by step plan is in place for us to work with the geography, history, cultural, weather, famous
citites, and favorite foods of many of the countries in the Spanish speaking world ALL BY USING
SPANISH TO COMMUNICATE. We review previous grammar and structure lessons and continue to
add to our knowledge of the structure of the language as well.
