Where is Mrs. Lawrence's room?
Room 2005, upstairs in the Math/Science building.Back to Top
Should I bring all of my materials to class everyday?
Yes! Unless I tell you otherwise, be prepared for anything! You will need paper, pen, pencil, notebook, etc. most everyday. On Chemistry Lab days, students must wear closed-toed shoes and have their prelab report written in their lab logbook in order to participate in the lab. Unless I tell you specifically to bring your textbook, leave it at home to study with.Back to Top
What do I do if I'm absent from class?
First, check this website to find the class topic and homework for the day(s)that you were absent. I also have class assignments posted in my room available for you to look at. DO NOT EXPECT ME (OR WAIT FOR ME) TO TELL YOU THAT YOU HAVE A MISSING ASSIGNMENT, TEST OR QUIZ. You have as many days to make-up work as you were absent, with a maximum of 5 days. Secondly, be sure to bring an excuse to the office and get a class admit before school when you return. Thirdly, check with me after school to arrange to make-up tests or quizzes. These are usually given on Tues and Wed afternoons. REMEMBER, it is your responsibility to get your missed assignments and to turn them in on time!Back to Top
I do not accept assignments late. Long term projects will be accepted one day late for 50% credit. I EXPECT YOU TO BE RESPONSIBLE AND TO TURN IN THE ASSIGNMENTS WHEN THEY ARE DUE.Back to Top
What if I am absent when a long-term project or assignment is due?
According to the Mustang Manual, students are required to turn in long-term projects and assignments on the day they are due, even if they are absent. This applies to all projects and science fair deadlines.Back to Top

Why do I have to do my homework? You don't always grade it.
Homework is assigned as practice to master the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful in the class. The goal is to LEARN THE MATERIAL, not to get a grade. I grade homework to get feedback on students' progress and to maintain an incentive for students to complete it. There are no shortcuts to learning science, YOU JUST HAVE TO DO IT!!!!Back to Top
Do ISM students get grades on every report card?
No. ISM credit and the year grade will only be given at the end of the year. It will not show up on any report card/progress report prior to the end of May.Back to Top

Absolutely! Look in your Mustang Manual under the Grading Information to find out what the actual credit is for your grade in ISM. Be sure to look at the AP column.Back to Top
