AP Chemistry Links

This is the new web address for the "Bridging to the Lab"
computer website.
BRIDGING TO THE LAB

This is the specific website for our chemistry book. You need
to
see Mrs. L for the ID and password. There are reviews that
work
with your interactive CD and sample test questions to help you
review. As this book is older now, the website is not kept up
as
well as the new 7th edition below.
CHEMISTRY by Zumdahl 5th ed. WEBSITE

This is the website for the updated version of our textbook.
There are flashcards, terms to know, and review media that is
online and doesn't require the CD. It uses the same ID and
password that the 5th edition uses. However, there are a few
items that we can't access.
CHEMISTRY by Zumdahl 7th ed. WEBSITE

This is the AP review book that we will be using to review for
the AP exam. You do not have to buy it from amazon.com, it is
just the cheapest price I have found so far.
AP Achiever Chemistry review book

Rice University has put together a WONDERFUL site that is a
great
source of Chemistry information. All referenced sites have
been
reviewed by a panel of chemistry educators and are
"graded" for usefulness, technology, etc. You will
have to register as a student; to gain access.
ADVANCED PLACEMENT DIGITAL LIBRARY

Chemistry drill and tutorials, very good site on many topics.
Has
interactive questions. Go to Chpt. 12 for gas law problems.
problems to work through. Try it out!
CHEMISTRY TUTORIALS

A great tutorial program on many topics including
Nomenclature.
Look for specific topics that we are studying.
THE CHEM TEAM TUTORIALS

This is a great site for practicing AP REACTIONS.
AP REACTIONS PRACTICE

Chem Tutor with websites on many of the BASIC TOPICS of
chemistry. Safety, measurement and basic chemistry is covered.
THE CHEM TUTOR

They are divided by topic and can provide good review of major
topics. These can be used to review and study for tests, etc.
Just be sure that the material was part of the topics that we
studied in class. I HAVE NOT looked at every single topic, so
compare with your class notes!!!
Good Chemistry Study Cards.

My class page at Quia.com that contains several games on the
topics we are studying.
Quia.com games

Check out the matter info! And atoms, periodic table,
elements,
naming, bonding, reactions, etc.
MATTER INFO

A new site with lots of info on elements, units, games, etc.
THINKQUEST

Play while you study!
AP Chemistry GAMES!

This contains links to specific comics about the elements.
THE PERIODIC TABLE OF COMIC BOOKS.

THIS WEEK IN THE HISTORY OF CHEMISTRY WEBSITE.
THIS WEEK IN THE HISTORY OF CHEMISTRY

Good help on all of the AP Chem material.
ChemistryGeek.com AP CHEMISTRY STUDY GUIDES

This is a great site on the ELEMENTS! It has all kinds of
information!
WEB ELEMENTS

This site is quite a hoot! Sing to a MIDI file from
Elton John to the words of "I'm Still Bonding"; ABBA, Avril L.
and many others.
MUSICAL CHEMISTRY.

Web animations/ Rutherford's experiment, nuclear
radioactivity,
atomic spectra, etc.
WEB ANIMATIONS

This is the e config simulation of the sublevel energies
changing
and orbital notation samples discussed in the AP notes.
ELECTRON CONFIGURATION SIMULATION

This is a very good tutorial on molecular geometry using the
VSEPR and hybridization theories. The 3D images are
especially
helpful.
VSEPR tutorial with 3D images

This is a good website on electrolytic cells. The discussion
of
overvoltage and the electrolysis of brine (NaCl(aq)) is very
good. There are sample problems on calculating metal amounts
plated during electrolysis.
Electrolytic Cells Tutorial

This is a computer simulation of the NO2 and N2O4 equilibrium.
NO2 and N2O4 Equilibrium Simulation

CHEM CENTRAL TUTORIALS
Some excellent explanations on many topics we are studying.
Chem Central tutorial pages

This is a links page made by Rhonda Alexander in Tyler who is
an
outstanding AP Teacher. See if you can find help with these
links.
AP Chemistry Tutorials by Topic

QUIA.COM CHEMISTRY STUDY GAMES
My class page at Quia.com that contains games on our current
topics.

This is an animation index from Arizona State University that
summarizes nuclear info.
Flash animation summarizing nuclear reactions

Webpage on diamonds, graphite, and buckyballs

This is an excellent tutorial website with lessons that you
can
download onto your computer and/or printout.
Chemistry Review Tutorials

This is the periodic table that we looked at in class that
shows
the electron configuration and orbital notations. The 3-D map
of
the orbital is also included.
Interactive Periodic Table with e config and orbital notation

WONDER WHAT URANIUM LOOKS LIKE? Check this out.
This periodic table shows pictures of the elements themselves.

This page takes you through example problems on Ksp problems.
