Course Description

BCIS - (Business Computer Information Systems)

         BCIS I offers hands-on activities using Microsoft Office 2003.  The areas taught include Word Processing, Draw, Spreadsheet, Database, Internet, Desktop Publishing/Publisher and Presentations to help students in the workplace and those going on to college. The history of computers and the various components that make-up the computer including Input/Output Devices and the Operating Systems are taught as well.

         This class is designed to put students into "real life" situations. Many students receive higher paying jobs after completing this course because they have a better knowledge of how documents need to look to be professional. Students attending college will be equipped to complete assignments

 
 
Multimedia

         This course will enable students to understand the fundamentals of multimedia and will provide a hands-on practice with multimedia tools and skills. All activities will be interactive with a project-based framework. Students will gain competency in using:
 
Software
     Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Publisher)
     Adobe Creative Suites (Photoshop, InDesign, Flash, Dreamweaver, Illustrator)
     Windows Movie Maker
 
Equipment
     Computer Capability
     Digital Cameras/Camcorders   
     CD/DVD Burners
