About The Teacher

Mr. McGowan is a graduate of the University of Missouri at Rolla and has 
a degree in Chemical Engineering.  He has a Texas teaching certificate 
to teach composite or all science classes.

He spent 6 years as an Engineer and has been teaching science since 
1994.

He has been at Friendswood High school since 1997.

He currrently teaches Physics.

Mission For The Class

My philosophy is for students to spend a great deal of time doing lab 
work that gives the student a hands on approach to the concepts to be 
taught.  If a student has a good conceptual basis for physical and 
chemical relationships and understand how and why things work, they 
will be highly successful in their college work and/or in their daily lives.
