I am a graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science
degree in Journalism-Public Relations. I also received my teaching
certificate--Secondary Language Arts Composite--from Texas A&M
University. I hold a Master of Arts degree in literature from the
University of Houston-Clear Lake.
This year, 2009-2010, is my eighteenth year to teach English.
My mission for any class I teach is to promote a love of literature and
writing by integrating the two subjects. In my classes students are
encouraged to develop not only their analytical and problem-solving
skills but also their individual creativity. I believe learning
should be a life-long adventure. Experiencing literature, through
reading different genres and writing personally and analytically,
allows students to journey to new experiences in that adventure every
day.
