Mission For The Class

AP Humanities IV
AP Humanities IV is designed to prepare students for the Advanced 
Placement Language and Composition exam, the Advanced Placement 
Literature and Composition exam, and success in college English.  The 
course concentrates on World literature with an emphasis on British 
literature. Emphasis is placed on critical thinking skills in all aspects of 
the program: language, literature, and composition.  An ability to read 
prose and poetry critically focusing on literary criticism is a key 
component of the course.  Writing about literature in an  essay format is 
another element emphasized.  

English IV
The course concentrates on World literature with an emphasis on 
British literature.  Emphasis is placed on critical thinking skills in all 
aspects: language, literature and composition.  Writing about literature 
in an essay format is another element emphasized.  The teacher will 
help students improve his/her own writing style. Research skills and 
research paper are also emphasized.
