As a graduate of the University of North Texas, I received both a
Bachelor of Science in English and a Master of Science in Secondary
Education. I also completed my Gifted and Talented Cerification
through the University of St. Thomas. The 2009-20010 school year will
be my eighteenth year to teach English.
Through a study of the connection between literature, grammar, and
composition, my mission in every English class I teach is to instill a love
of literature and writing by revealing the relationships between these
subjects. Critical thinking and close analysis of literature allows
students to develop their own skills as well as encourage a sense of
reading as an adventure. In my class students will be encouraged to
use reading and writing to develop their identities and find their places
in the world.
