Classroom Procedures and Theatre Arts Etiquette
1. Arrive to class on time with all necessary materials, scripts,
notebook, paper and pen.
2. Sit in assigned seat and remain there unless otherwise instructed.
3. Each student is responsible for his/her behavior and manners.
4. NO FOOD, CHEWING GUM OR DRINKS ARE ALLOWED IN THE
STUDIO, AUDITORIUM OR A CLASSROOM AT ANY TIMES.
5. NO STUDENT WILL BE ALLOWED TO LEAVE CLASS FOR ANY
REASON OTHER THAN PERSONAL ILLNESS OR SCHOOL BUSINESS.
6. This is our Theatre Facility, Keep it clean and in order.
- If you use a prop return it to the exact place that you found it.
- If you use a costume return it exactly as you found it.
- If you use a set piece, return it to the exact place it belongs.
- Return tools to the proper place.
- Return video or sound equipment to the proper place.
- Return makeup to the proper place.
- Return project supplies to the proper place.
- Return make-up supplies to the proper place.
Do not stand or put feet on the chairs.
Take your personal items with you.
7. Do not speak while Mrs. Thornton is speaking.
8. Listen to the instructions the first time they are given.
9. Mrs. Powdrell’s office is always open, please be respectful of the
space.
10. Bring a good attitude to class.
12. No Pass, No Play. UIL eligibility rules apply to
rehearsal/performance
13. Audience etiquette is strictly enforced. Never talk or disturb another
student’s performance.
14. Do not touch props, costumes, set pieces or anything that looks like
it is involved in class work or performance.
15. Theatre Safety rules are always followed.
16. Above all, treat everyone with respect and tolerance.
Actors and theatre technicians are self-employed. Personal discipline
and theatre etiquette is expected.
