Welcome to my site! I am very thrilled to be teaching here at Friendswood
High School where I graduated from in 2002. While attending FHS I
played volleyball all four years -- going to the state tournament my junior
year and far into the playoffs each other year. I also played basketball as
a freshman. Along with playing sports I participated in numerous clubs and
programs including National Honor Society, German Club, German Honor
Society, Journalism UIL, Superintendant's Advisory Committee, and many
others. I graduated in the top 10 percent of my class in 2002.
After leaving high school I went on to attend Sam Houston State University
and the University of Houston. I now have a B.A. in Mathematical Sciences
from the University of Houston Clear Lake. During the Spring Semester of
2006 I was a long-term Algebra 1 teacher as I completed my math education
courses from UHCL. I then became a full-time teacher for Friendswood in the
fall of 2006.
I feel fully prepared to help my students grasp the challenging concept of
mathematics and will go to all means in doing so. With your support, we can
turn this "feared" subject into something very fun and interesting to each
student as they realize how valuable it is for their lives.
I am also the JV volleyball coach.
My goal for each of my classes is to 1) help those who have a fear of
learning and understanding what they might consider to be a difficult
subject; 2) help all students to be better prepared for future math
coursework; and 3) help all students to see how valuable this subject is to
their everyday lives and for their futures.
