Course Description:

Students will explore and develop educational achievement skills as well as personal achievement skills. The areas of interest will include organization, social skills, study skills, stress management, diversity and cross-cultural issues, conflict resolution, decision making, and career exploration. There will also be time devoted to core class studies, and assessments will be administered.

Course Rationale:

 The motivation and/or rationale for this program includes the development of educational achievement skills and personal achievement skills at the middle school level along with the need to more fully establish a relationship with these students that will net increased trust and advocacy for the students. The ultimate goal of the course is not only to introduce and teach these needed skills, but also to inspire increased interest in academics and school attendance.
