iPASS Syllabus
Ms. Marrow

Course Description:
iPASS is a course that will reinforce computation skills and problem solving through each mathematics objective resulting in improved productivity and accuracy. iPASS is a required class for those students that did not meet state standards on the TAKS test and is taught in addition to their regular math class.

My Goal: My goal is to encourage students to always do their best inside and outside the classroom. I recognize that each student possess
different mathematical skills than their peers. Students are treated as individuals and I respect their knowledge and improvements.

Materials:
A spiral notebook is required as well as a three-prong folder with pockets. Also, pencils and a red pen are required. At times, we
may use map colors or markers- students will be told about materials needed prior to the activity. In class textbooks and materials will be
provided.

Grading Scale: All activities (computer usage, iPASS assignments, tests, quizzes, group activities, math challenges, interactive web site
activities, assignments, etc.) will have equal weight unless otherwise noted in the assignment. No semester or final exam is given.

Class Structure: This class follows a sequential, comprehensive curriculum. Content will be presented, practiced and reinforced through
independent work, small group settings, and software use. Content is selected to strengthen the students’ math skills and comprehension.
Daily activities and projects will be completed in class. It is my preference that students do NOT have homework in this class since they will
have it on a regular basis in their regular math course. The only time a student may have homework is if an absence occurs or prior to a test or
quiz.

When a student is absent, it is their responsibility to check the Absentee Folder for a packet containing their make up work. Any missed work is
due within two school days. If a quiz or a test is missed, it is the student’s responsibility to schedule a convenient tutorial time to make up the
quiz or test within one week of their absences.

Late work will be accepted according to the FJH Late Work Policy located in the Student Handbook. Also, no test retakes for full credit or test
corrections for full credit will be offered in accordance with FJH policy.

Tutorials: Tutorial times are Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:00 AM. Afternoon tutorials can be scheduled in advance.

Contact Information: An open door of communication is encouraged between the student, parents/guardians, other teachers and myself. You
may contact me in the following ways: email: mmarrow@fisdk12.net phone: 281-482-7818
Also, please continually check www.teacherweb.com for information.

Scope and Sequence:

The iPASS program is an accelerated recovery program for mathematics. The program designs an individual prescription for each student. This
computer software will test each student, find deficits, fill in gaps and move on to the next concept.

Although iPASS has its own scope and sequence, some material may be taught simultaneously with material in their regular math class.

The curriculum is cumulative; therefore, each assessment is subject to covering previously tested material.

I am looking forward to a great year using iPASS .
